I follow a band called CHRVCHES on Facebook. They seem to be selling out every show as soon as it goes on sale, so they may be one of the next big bands. Anyway – they recommend a band from their home town on their FB page and I really liked the song so I thought I would share. Here is PRIDE with Out of the Blue.
I have been hearing a song called Female Robbery by The Neighbourhood and wanted to include them on my weekly “Music Break”. When I went to search for info on the band, I couldn’t find anything and then came across this bio on Paradigm Agency.
“In early 2012 a mysterious band appeared online. The group, The Neighbourhood, revealed no biographical information, no photos and no backstory, offering only a moody track titled “Female Robbery.” Fans and the press were confounded, scouring the Internet for any information that might lead them to the identity of these musicians. Pieces of the puzzle, some reflecting reality and some not so much, began to emerge. The Neighbourhood were a quintet. They were from California despite the British spelling of their name. They had a second track, “Sweater Weather,” which had an accompanying — and equally dark — video.”
A five-song disc has been released as a precursor to the band’s debut album, expected out March 2013.

I recently discovered Dan Croll on XM during one of their new music shows. Dan Croll who moved to Liverpool when he was 18 to attend the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). While at LIPA, he won the national Songwriter of the Year award and was one of eight students picked to have a one-to-one with LIPA founder Sir Paul Mccartney. He has released one teaser single called From Nowhere which is offered in 4 different remixes. His second single, Compliment Your Soul will be released in March of this year. I even bought tickets to go see him on March 8th at the Echo in LA. Keep an ear out for this one and check out his song …
If you watch the show GIRLS on HBO, you may have heard this song on the episode where Hannah is going crazy dancing in a club after experimenting with drugs for an article she is writing. The song was so catchy, I had to track it down. Turns out it’s performed by Swedish DJ and synthpop duo Icona Pop.
The song in the show is called I Love It. I am including two more of their hits – Manners & Nights Like This. Check them out.
Wanted to share a song by Gary Clark, Jr who is a 28 year old musician out of Austin, TX. His album is called Blak and Blu and he is touring in Australia right now to promote it.
