Things I am happy about: color is in, colorBLOCKING is in, kitten heels are in, I don’t have to wear a suit to work anymore. I get comments from some of my “industry friends” that they can’t get away with wearing a pink blazer or red pants to work but I don’t see why. This look covers most of the office attire basics – long sleeve blouse, proper trouser (not jeans disguised as pants), closed toe shoes … and it won’t make co-workers fall asleep when sitting across a table from you. I also love the idea of red pants with red heels. Saw it on Pinterest or somewhere and made a mental note to try it. What do you think ?

I’m really coveting your red pants! I’ve been pinning pictures of red trousers for weeks now hoping to get brave enough to get them. 🙂 Funny, I’m the only female under 35 in the department…a department full of tech guys. Go around the table at a meeting, you’ll see white, black, navy, gray….PINK OR RED OR CORAL. I can’t help myself — I really can’t!

I say you go for it Amanda. Maybe tone down the red pants with simple top and shoes at first, until you feel more comfortable and then you go for the cheetah print shoes ! 😉

Love the red + red. I also cracked up about your “jeans disguised as pants” comment. So true–people think if they’re blue they’re not jeans–wrong!

This is a gorgeous look. I love how clean and crisp you kept it, letting the colors really pop. I just read your “about me” and love how you came up with your blog name! I think it is so important as a mom to stay connected to those creative things you are interested in. Keep it up girl!

I completely agree with you about wearing colors to work! You’re right that as long as the outfit covers the basic dress code rules, why not be colorful? Also, I really like your cropped red pants. I have a pair but they don’t look nearly as nice on me as they do on you!

Perfect color blocking! I really like the “crisp” look of the entire outfit.

Super cute!! Love that outfit. I’m thankful for the fact that I am able to wear color in the workplace. My easter egg purple cords get much more use:)
